Golf in Alanya
In 2014, the Council of Ministers officially approved several sites around Alanya for golf course construction. Work is progressing and on February 2, 2016 plans officially began on two sites in Konakli and Okurcalar. 18 holes with a hotel complex for 200 beds are being built in Konlaki, 5km from Alanya. This is the first golf course in Alanya but 6-8 other sites are designated around and in Alanya for potential new/other golf courses.
Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is known for his interest in golf and he grew up in Alanya. Mevlut has personally shown a great commitment to getting several courses up around Alanya.
